Northwestern was fire damaged.
But its finally been reopened
. . . with today and tomorrow
grand opening days at the com-
pletely remodeled store on
Northwestern near Merchant of
Vino . . . Its 4,000 square feet in-
cludes many European fashions
not seen elsewhere . . . and com-
bines a contemporary look of ele-
gance with beautiful decor. .. .
The eight large overhead cubicles
are sensational . . . all oak floors

gala party, TV and radio inter-
views, personal appearances,
photographers, and lots of glitter

Eight Mile and said to Jerry Gur-
win, "You painted my car last
year and it's peeling already" ..
He told her the paint was guaran-
teed and would do it over again .. .
The woman rolled in with her
American Motors Matador (they
don't make them anymore) .. .
Jerry remembers painting the
gravel pan . . . five years ago .. .
She lost track of time but made no
difference to him . . . if lady
thought enough to bring her
Matador back, he'd redo the paint
work without charge.
Trouble with Jerry's work
through the years is that folks
have their cars fixed up to sell .. .
But it looks so good they wind up
keeping the auto.

Musical Memorial
To Julius Chajes

A piano concert honoring the
memory of Mr. Julius Chajes will
be given by artist students of
Betty Kowalsky Stasson on Wed-
nesday at 8 p.m. at the Birming-
ham Community House.
Participating in the program
will be Paul Wu, Candace Tesch,
Adam Uzelac, Albert Klemptner,
Tanya Klemptner, Jacqueline
Krakow, Dr. Kenneth Tucker,
Deborah Tucker, Melissa Miller
and Leslie Brooks.
Concerti by Haydn, Bach,
Mozart, Beethoven,
Rachmaninoff, Grieg and
Schumann will be performed.
