SHAAREY ZEDEK youth will
be at the Yom Haatzmaut cele-
bration at 1 p.m. Sunday at the
Jewish Community Center. The
group will have a game booth and
sell helium balloons.
On May 5 at 1:30 p.m., Shaarey
Zedek United Synagogue Youth
(grades nine-12) will hold its USY
executive board elections. To run
for a position, call Risa Strauss,
357-5544.
Greater Detroit USY will hold a
weekend retreat for eighth-12th
graders at Camp Maas May 10-12.
The weekend will include sports,
meals, socials and Shabbat obser-
vance. The theme for the weekend
will be "Social Issues Facing the
Jewish Teenager." All USY chap-
ters from the Detroit area will be
represented. To register and for
information, call Ms. Strauss.

Conference of Synagogue Youth,
announces a "shabbaton" will be
held at the Young Israel of Green-
field May 10-12. Youth from To-
ronto, Columbus, Indianapolis
and Louisville and Detroit will
attend.
The convention is open to
Jewish youth (public and private
school) between the ages of 9 and
13 or grades four-eight. There is a
charge.
