The Adult Study Commission
of Adat Shalom Synagogue an-
nounces its annual Morris E.
Bloomberg Judaica-Jack
Rosenbloom Memorial Concert
will be held on May 8 at 8 p.m.
This year's concert will fea-
ture Sharti Lach Artzi - "I Sing
to You My Land."
The program will feature
Rivka Raz, first lady of the mus-
ical theater in Israel. She has
been the recipient of three Harp
of David Awards (equivalent to
Broadway's Tony Award) and
has had the lead in both My
Fair Lady and The King and I.
Highlighting the program will
be Dan Almagor, Israel's playw-
right, lyricist, and T.V. person-
ality. He has written, produced
and hosted more than 30 special
one-hour musical shoes for Is-
raeli television. His recent
series "I Sang for Thee, My
Country" won the Harp of David
Award as the Best Television
Series of the Year.
The multi-media production
will feature five Israeli actors,
singers and musicians. Jonathan
and Sandra Jaffa are co-
chairmen of the commission and
Sharon Hart is concert chair-
man. Tickets are available at
the synagogue office, 851-5100.
Sisterhood Sabbath
Cong. B'nai Israel of West
Bloomfield Sisterhood will make
Sisterhood Sabbath at services
at 8:30 p.m. May 10.
There will be a guest speaker,
and an Oneg Shabbat will follow
services.
