the sale of those 36x9 back
windshield banners that say,
"CALL POLICE" in large reflec-
tive lettering that are highly visi-
ble to passing vehicles . . . On sale
by National Council of Jewish
Women, Greater Detroit Section,
the heavy duty plastic folds and is
put in glove compartment for
emergencies like out of gas, snow-
bound, engine trouble, flat tire or
whatever . . . they have pre-fixed,
double-sided tape.
The back window banners are
great when women alone at night
have car problems . . . No need to
get out of the car_ .. which could
be very dangerous . . . Would-be
troublemakers are discouraged
from attacking because of as-
sumption police are already on
the way . . . The Highway Emer-
gency Banners are terrific!

to Roy Feinberg . . . on his 55th

GOOD SAMARITAN DEPT.

. . . Happened last August, but
has come to fore who they were
that did this fine deed . . . Dr.
Louis and Alta Kasdan were at
Windsor Airport returning from
visit with children in Winnipeg
.. They saw woman with lug-
gage and 3-month-old baby on
road . . . thought she was being
met by someone . . . but dis-
covered were waiting for a bus .. .
The Kasdans knew there was no
bus service and offered her a ride
. . . she was going their way to
Southfield . . . and dropped her off
with infant at door of Mercy Col-
lege where they were to attend a
conference . . . The very thankful
young lady never knew their
names . . . wrote letter to Detroit
Free Press, who sent it to Sinai
Hospital (only thing she knew
about them was that he worked
there) . . . Dr. Kasdan is in the
Department of Medicine.
In her letter, Canadian Joan
Halmo writes, "I, the mother,
wish to acknowledge with
gratitude the couple's warm ges-
ture of international friendship
made in the great Jewish tradi-
tion of hospitality to the
stranger."
