Shaarey Zedek. Lazar is the director of the He- brew Arts Concert Choir and the chorus of the Cantors' Institute of the Jewish Theological Seminary. He is director of the American Jewish Choral Festival and has recently been appointed the American representative of the Zmiriyah world assembly of choirs in Israel. He also serves on the governing board of the American Society for Jewish music. Lazar has been conductor of the Zamir Chorale since 1972.
