WISH WE WERE ABLE TO
write something positive about
the Jewish prisoners situation at
Jackson State Prison, but nothing
so far ... However, we can't see it
at all possible that the denial of
their right to worship in accord-
ance with Jewish law will con-
tinue.
MAIL DEPT. . . . "Dear sir, I
am writing to you again because
of the unfortunate circumstances
pertaining to our situation here at
Jackson Prison. We the Jewish
inmates were not allowed to have
a Passover service because the
Department of Corrections came
up with some new rules, and with
these new rules we, the congrega-
tion, have been split up into three
different groups. Because of this
split, we could not have a
Passover service. .
"Because of your help, we the
congregation have received a
large amount of money. However,
we will be sending all the money
back to the people or organiza-
tions who were so kind to see that
we the Jewish inmates had a good
Passover service. Not that we
couldn't use the money, but we
feel that it was sent to us for this
purpose. We will also send a letter
as to why the money is being re-
turned, with our thanks and
appreciation to all the people that
took the time to help us in the
matter.
"I am sorry if I caused you any
problems by putting our request
in your column of The Jewish
News. I feel bad because of the
way that things turned out."

IT STARTED AT end of last
year . . . when the 38 dentists at
Metropolitan Dental Centers met
during a private meeting for pur-
pose of helping less fortunate
people in Tri-county area.
Since January is normally a
slower month, the time was set
aside for centers in Oakland
County and the MDC doctors de-
voting full time in giving 100 per-
cent free dentistry to those who
couldn't afford to pay . . . Qualifi-
cations for getting free dental ,
service was proof of no insurance
benefits, being unemployed and
not qualified for social or govern-
ment aid.
In first week after news broke of
their humane attempt, 166 phone
calls were received and ar-
rangements made by Dr. Joel
Silver, Dr. Jeffrey Ingber, Dr.
Allen Shuster and others for con-
sultation and treatment to
patients who qualified.
Since the tremendous response,
the doctors of Metropolitan Den-
tal Centers have decided . to ex-
pand their free dentistry program
throughout the entire metro area
. . . cleaning teeth, full mouth ex-
tractions, fillings, root canals and
missing teeth replacement.
It began again April 15 and
lasts through May 15 . . . with 11
dental centers and MDC's 38 doc-
tors plus 29 hygienists and 116
auxiliary personnel devoting full
time . . . Prospective patients
should refer to Yellow Pages for
Metropolitan Dental Center
nearest them.

LENA AND MOE MILLER
returned from Florida last week
. . . bringing the gorgeous
weather with them . . . They'll
celebrate their 50th anniversary
in June.
