STILL SERVING THE
BEST FOOD IN TOWN!

Same Servico folks . . . sama
general manager, Perry Shaikh,
same food and beverage director,
Chuck DeSantis . . . but far more
than just a name change.
Coming to Southfield Hilton
will be a New York-style deli res-
taurant with an upbeat contem-
porary look . . . L.J. Loophole's
will finally be changed . . . It'll be-
come the Signature Restaurant
. . . a room where gourmet dining
can be regally enjoyed . . . Yester-
days high energy lounge will be
fashioned after a 1950s diner .. .
with gumball machines, Wur-
litzer jukeboxes and old neon ad
signs . . . Added will be a lobby bar
for casual and informal gather-
ings in a warm, quiet atmosphere.
William Meyer, president of
Servico, which owns and operates
more than 42 hotel properties in
the United States . . . accounting
for more than 10,000 rooms .. .
and 1984 sales exceeding $160
million . . . is a founder and board
of trustees member at Temple
Judea in West Palm Beach . . . His
executive vice president, Vartan
Tchekmeian, was born in Israel,
and came here as a student in
1966.
$3.3 million in improvements
are expected to be completed by
September of this year.
TRUE AUTHENTIC Russian
borscht is absolutely different
from the kind Americans are used
to eating . . . This was tastefully
proven again to us while having a
complete Russian dinner at home
of Dora and Jacov Finefter and
son Oleg (or Alex) Finefter, owner
of Le Monti, discount designer
clothier for men and women in
Hunters Square, Orchard Lake
Rd.
We have had hot borscht before
. . . at Russian Bear and Colonel
Fedor and Joyce Maybohm's
Carousel . . . but nothing as good
as what Dora makes . . . it's al-
most like what we call cabbage
borscht, complete with flanken
(boiled beef).
Having a complete Russian
dinner . . . authentic and
homemade . . . was a very delight-
ful experience . . . and the gra-
cious hospitality was absolutely
wonderful.
"OSCAR'S REUNION" to
benefit Multiple Sclerosis re-
search, April 19 at Standard Club,
is open to all . . . $50 per person
includes dinner, dancing and 9:30
afterglow . . . $10 for just af-
terglow . . . Dinner tables of six or
ten also get magnum of Asti
Spumonti . . . Cash bar . . . More
info by calling Lisa Campisi,
332-4090.

DR. MARVIN RIVKIN'S

hobby of making motorized
airplanes that fly by remote con-
trol is extremely interesting .. .
and those who saw his downstairs
workshop at recent party given by
wife Betty and him were in awe.
Upstairs in their beautiful
home, evening previous to St.
Patrick's day was reason to have a
dinner party . . . Among the food
. . . was delicious corned beef and
cabbage made by their close
friend Dee Shapiro, who danced
with joy (and can she dance!) se-
eing everyone smacking their lips
at her cooking.
