Dr. Dan Cohen, director of vet- erinary research at BGU and head of the camel fertility project, believes that Israel can become an exporter of camels, which are un- challenged as work animals in the area. Cohen acknowledges that camel meat is generally consid- ered a poor man's dish in Arab countries, but says that camel calf tastes like veal. animated Hebrew instruction program adventure game based on the Book Philistine Ploy of Judges All about Passover — the rich traditions of Passover in full-color graphic animation w/sound — hundreds of selected Jewish Proverbs proverbs indexed by category Appic And the Apple logo are registered tralemark. ot 11rple Computer Inc NS.; \pple Computer Ini. ../PECTRUM LAWRENCE M. The itinerary includes a solemn visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem. When one of the par- ticipants held back and told Bayer that it would be hard for him to go through there, Bayer replied that it was much more difficult for those who went through the con- centration camps. Beth El was established 25 years ago by the late Friedrich Nothacker, and has been operat- ing quietly ever since. There is no advertising. Organizations of Holocaust survivors submit lists of qualified guests, and others hear of it by word of mouth. The establishment is strictly kosher and the kashrut supervisor, a local woman, has been approved by the nearby Nahariya rabbi- nate. Any fears that this might be a missionary project have been fully set to rest. Bayer often returns to Ger- many to address parlor meetings, show films and tell church groups about the project. The undertak- ing is not sponsored by any par- ticular sect, nor does it get help from the German government or any other official agency. When he tells his story, Bayer told us, he has little difficulty procuring as- sistance. Bayer attended an Israeli up- lan, but admitted that he learned most of his Hebrew from his five children. They attend the local Is- raeli schools, and while the lan- guage at home is German, the children usually speak Hebrew among themselves. His wife, Crystal, also speaks Hebrew. The program at Beth El is quiet, pleasant, relaxing. The food is good. The guests can swim, rest, read, relax, or go on organized trips around the Galilee. There is no television, and Bayer says his guests learn once again how to make conversation, to socialize, to read and write letters. Said one elderly guest: "At Auschwitz I was tortured by the Germans; here they are spoiling me." Beth El has been so successful that this year they have opened a nursing home for the aged and chronically ill at Maalot. It is only for Holocaust survivors lacking in means, and the staff again are volunteers from Germany. Friday, March 29, 1985 2. AWARDED CERTIFICATE BY GIA IN GRADING I EVALUATION Daily Sat.
