Afro-Arab Link
Is All Talk

Nairobi (JTA) — Afro-Arab
cooperation has seen much talk
but very little action on the part of
the Arabs, Kenya's Foreign
Minister, Elijah Mwangale, said
in Nairobi last week on his return
from a meeting of the Council of
Ministers of the Organization of
African Unity (OAU) in Addis
Adaba, Eth'o

headed the Ke yan delegation.
Nevertheless, e said, the OAU
Foreign Minister§ are preparing
for a second .Afro-Arab summit
meeting, to take place in Tripoli,
Libya next month. The first such
summit was held in Cairo in 1977.
Mwangale told an airport press
conference here, "At the Addis
Adaba meeting I made it abun-
dantly clear that in spite of all this
talk of Afro-Arab cooperation, lit-
tle has in actual fact been
achieved. There is little flow of
Arab capital to Africa because
Arabs, like Western countries,
view Africa as an area of risk for
investment."
According to a report by the
World Jewish congress (WJC),
Mwangale warned against the in-
trusion of Islamic elements into
the internal affairs of African
countries. He said he had stressed
that Arabs should not seek to in-
troduce religion as part—of Afro-
Arab cooperation. I underlined
that care should be taken to
ensure that one culture not be
allowed to adulterate the other."

New York — The producers of
next month's NBC-TV mini-
series on Raoul Wallenberg have
been charged with plagiarism by
Harvey Rosenfeld, author of a
1982 book on the Swedish dip-
lomat credited with saving the
lives of tens of thousands of Hun-
garian Jews during the
Holocaust.
The author is charging that
Gerald Green's script for the
mini-series copies material from
Raoul Wallenberg: Angel of Re-
scue (Prometheus). Rosenfeld also
claims to have presented the idea
for a teleplay to Green following
the completion of his book in 1982.
Green wrote the novel on which
the 1978 NBC-TV mini-series
Holocaust was based.
