The Center Symphony Or-
chestra will dedicate its next con-
cert at 3:30 p.m. Sunday to its late
conductor and founder Mr. Julius
Chafes.
The concert, which will take
place in the Jewish Community
Center's Aaron DeRoy Studio
Theater; will feature Felix Re-
snick, conductor of the West
Bloomfield and Grosse Pointe
Symphony • Orchestras, as guest
conductor.
Appearing with the CSO are
Marcy Chanteaux, assistant prin-
cipal cellist of the Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra; Inez Redman,
violinist; and pianist Bernard
Katz.
The program includes Bocche-
rini's Cello Concerto in B Flat
Major, Handel's Concerto Grosso

No. 12 and Chajes'. Trio in D
Minor.
Tickets are available at the
Jewish Community Center
cashier's office.

Zionist Institute will co-sponsor
an Oneg Shabbat on Saturday at
1:30 p.m. in the Labor Zionist
meeting room, 25900 Greenfield,
Suite 205-E, Oak Park.
Florence Schreier, member of
the speaker's bureau at the De-
troit Institute of Arts, will give an
illustrated talk on The Precious
Legacy exhibit.
Coffee and cake will be served.

Holocaust survivor Dr. Bruno
Bettelheim will speak at Central
Michigan University 8 p.m. April
1. The lecture by Dr. Bettelheim
will kick off Genocide Awareness
Month on the school's Mt. Pleas-
ant campus.
Related events during April

Jewish Students Association and
the Armenian Club.

U-M Holocaust
Parley Slated

The seventh annual University
of Michigan Conference on the
Holocaust will be held Sunday-
Wednesday at the U-M Hillel
Foundation, 1429 Hill Street,
Ann Arbor.
Conference speakers will ap-
proach the Holocaust from a
variety of perspectives. A number
of art, drama, dance, poetry and
film presentations are also slated.
