is upon us again. We have about
30 Jewish inmates here. We are
_-trying to find some people or
organization that would like to
help us with our funding so we can
have a Passover service.
"Our congregation does not
have the funds to put an ad in the
Jewish News. Also, we don't have
the money to have our Passover
service.
"If you find an organization or
someone that would like to give a
contribution for this very worthy
cause, the congregation would
really appreciate the support.

Southfield Parks & Recreation's
Bill Wolenzak, and myself .. .
Sandy gets an A-Plus for his
coffee-making.
AND THEN THERE was the
conceited young man who had
been in the hospital for some time
and extremely well looked after
by the pretty young nurse .. .
"Nurse," said the patient one
morning, "I'm in love with you. I
don't want to get well." . . . "Don't
worry," replied the nurse cheer-
fully, "you won't. The doctor's in
love with me too, and he saw you
kissing me this morning."

ANN AND EDDIE ELIAS

rand Rose and Val Valensky were
youngsters together here in De-
troit . . . both couples married
over 50 years . . . That's how long
they hadn't seen each other .. .
until Rose and Val, who now re-
side there, gave a dinner party in
Tamarac, Fla. at Woodlands
;Country Club.
Former Detroiters Rhoda and
Robert Franklin arranged the
meeting that turned the clock
back to early 1930s while Ann and
Eddie were in Florida visiting .. .
Reminiscing of "the old crowd"
with Edie Kaplan, Helen Felman,
Sadie Leiderman, Reva Miller,
Diane Springer and others.
Also at the reunion were .. .
former localites Lil and Oscar
Spilkin and Jeanette and Irving
Auslander of Tamarac, Fla.;
Helen Nelson of Lauderdale
Lakes, Fla., and Lynn Halper of
Oak Park, where Ann and Eddie
live.

MAIL DEPT. . . . "Greetings
from the 'Sunny South.' I haven't
lived in Detroit since 1967, but I
enjoy reading your columns. In
the Feb. 22, 1985 issue, you wrote
quite a bit about the Mumford
shirts now available in the area.
Well, that's not the only place
they can be purchased. They are
available at Burdine's (South
) Floria) in either grey or maroon
and blue (the school colors). (I am
the manager in the domestics and
drapery departments at the Bro-
ward Mall.)
"I rushed to get one (in the
'school colors of course) and enjoy
wearing it on weekends when I'm
not working. It's a real conversa-
tion starter."
