Eileen, to Jeffrey Mark Diskin,

Miss Averbuch attended East-
ern Michigan University. Her
fiance holds B.A. and M.A. de-
grees in music education from the
University of Michigan. He is a
band teacher in the Chippewa
Valley Schools in Mt. Clemens.

Marsha, to Aubrie Marc Appel,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Appel

The bride-to-be is a graduate
pharmacist. Her fiance holds a
master's degree in criminology
from the University of Ottawa.

WSU Establishes
New Fellowships
Three faculty fellowships, each
providing $8,000 a year for two
years to an eminent senior scholar
at Wayne State University, will
be created with proceeds from a
charitable trust established by
the late Charles Gershenson, a
prominent Detroit businessman
and philanthropist.
Creation of the Gershenson Fa-
culty Fellowships was announced
by WSU President David
Adamany at the Board of Gover-
nors meeting Feb. 15. Fellows will
be permitted to used the $8,000
for any purpose to support their
research, the president said.

Temple Treasures
Group To Meet
The Temple Treasures group of
Temple Israel will meet 12:30
p.m. March 19 at the temple in
West Bloomfield. Betsy Winkel-
man will present slides and film
from her recent trip to Russia.
The public is invited and there
is a charge. For reservations or
