Beth Achim. The format for this three-week program will include a choice of one of the three lecture series and a bonus lunch on Wednesday at noon. Series I with Wendy Orent, an- thropologist, will focus on "We Are One? Ethiopian Jews, Geor- gian Jews, Moroccan Jews, and Ashkenazic Jews, Ethnic Politics and Problems in Israel." Ms. Orent has done extensive fieldwork with ethnic groups in Israel. She is currently a Ph.D. degree candidate at the Univer- sity of Michigan. Series II will feature Dr. Tikva Frvmer-Kensky, Biblical scholar and Assyriologist, who will speak on "Women, Sex and Danger — The Biblical View." Series III will feature Dr. Jonathan Fishbane, historian, on the topic "The Liter- ature of Laughter; Recipes for Coping from Sholem Aleichem, Isaac Bashevis Singer, and Woody Allen. He is currently on sabbatical teaching at the University of Michigan and doing research at the Industrial Technology Institute. The Girl Scout cookie sale generates more than 50 percent of the Girl Scouts' an- nual operating income. Seven varieties are offered: Juliettes, Chocolate Chunks, Thin Mints, Samoas, Do-Si-Dos, Tefoils and Tagalongs. Each cookie selection is offered at $1.75 per package.
