The Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion will have a by-invitation-
only reception to contribu-
tors of $1,000 or more to the
Allied Jewish Campaign at 7 p.m.
Monday at the DIA. Sen. Carl
Levin will receive an award for
helping to make the exhibit possi-
ble. Talisman and Anna R. Cohn,
project director of The Precious
Legacy, will be the speakers.
From March 11 to April 5, a
photographic exhibit, "Jewish
Life Around the World," can be
seen in the exhibition hall of the
main Jewish Community Center.
Radio and television commen-
tator Barry Farber will be the
special guest at a cocktail recep-
tion and private viewing of The
Precious Legacy exhibit at 7 p.m.
Tuesday at the DIA, sponsored by
the New Leadership Division of
State of Israel Bonds.
A cantata, "The Beadle of
Prague," commissioned by Talis-
man and his wife, will make its
Detroit debut at 8 p.m. March 18,
when a Torah from the Memorial
Scrolls Trust of Prague will be
dedicated at Cong. Beth Abraham
Hillel Moses. For information,
call the synagogue, 851-6880.
Hadassah will sponsor tours,
including luncheon and film, at 10
a.m. March 19 and 26 and April 2,
16 and 23. For information, call
Hadassah, 357-2920.
The Midwest Region of the
American Jewish Congress will
have its 20th annual weekend
kallah March 22-24, based at the
Michigan Inn. The weekend will
include Shabbat meals and serv-
ices, lectures, a visit to the
Holocaust Memorial Center and a
tour of The Precious Legacy.

An ecumenical evening is
slated for 6 p.m. March 24 at the
DIA. Rev. James Lyons, executive
director of the Ecumenical Insti-
tute for Jewish-Christian Studies,

Children of Holocaust Sur-
vivors Association in Michigan
(CHAIM) will have a program on
"The Impact of the Holocaust on
Eastern European Jewry" at 7:30
p.m. March 31 at the main Jewish
Center.
