mence a one year pre-doctoral in-
ternship at the South Huntington
Veterans Administration Medical
Center in Boston, Mass.

Karbal-Brant

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Karbal of
Bloomfield HIlls announce the
engagement of their daughter,
Lauri Sue, to Dr. Norman Harvey
Brant, son of Benjamin and
Blanche Brant of West Bloom-
field.
Laurie is a nurse anesthetist at
Detroit Receiving Hospital and is
on the faculty of Wayne State
University's School of Anes-
thesia. She is a graduate of Uni-
versity of Michigan, School of
Nursing, and Wayne State Uni-
versity, School of Nurse Anes-
thesia. She earned a M.S. degree
in anesthesia from Wayne State
University.
Norm received a B.S. degree
from Wayne State University and
a D.P.M. degree from the Illinois
College of Podiatric Medicine. He
is practicing podiatry in Far-
mington Hills.
Laurie and Norman will be
married at Cong. Shaarey Zedek
in the spring. Rabbi Irwin Groner
of Cong. Shaarey Zedek and Rabbi
Morton Yolkut of Cong. B'nai
David will co-officiate.

Dr. Sircus received a B.S. de-
gree summa cum laude from the
University of Florida, and an
M.D. degree from the University
of Miami. Dr. Sircus completed a
general surgery internship at St.
Elizabeth's Hospital and is pursu-
ing a urology residency at the
Tufts-New England Medical Cen-
ter in Boston.
A May wedding is planned.

Wiener-Rosen

Julie Jayne Rosen and Martin
Lee Wiener were married Feb. 2
at Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Rabbi Efry Spectre and Cantor
Larry Vieder officiated.
Parents of the bride are Bruce
and Rosalie Rosen of Bloomfield
Hills. The bridegroom is the son of
Lawrence and Esther Wiener of
Southfield.
Pamela Rosen was her sister's
maid of honor. Marisa Wiener was
the couple's flower girl.
Jeffrey Wiener was his
brother's best man. Bradley and
Matthew Gerbs were the couple's
junior ushers.
The couple is residing in West
Bloomfield.

Hermelin Cited

David B. Hermelin is one of
three honorees to be named
Knights of Charity Saturday eve-
ning at the annual dinner bene-
fitting the Pontifical Institute for
Foreign Missions. Carl Levin,
Max Fisher and Paul Zuckerman
are among the honorary chairmen
of the dinner, to be held at the
Westin Hotel.
