cuperating from a car accident
which left her with a broken back
and in a body cast, was brought a

(with heels of the bread included!)
This surprise was sent by her fam-
ily, Chuck, Helene, Karen, Jeff,

Detroit-born violinist Richard
Luby will perform in concerts of
Johann Sebastian Bach's solo
music at the Detroit Institute of
Arts at 8 p.m. Thursday and
March 19.

Luby, the son of Dr. Robert and
Miriam Luby, began performing
on baroque violin in 1973 during
doctoral studies at the Yale
School of Music. His instrument
has been restored to historical
condition by replacing the bridge,
sound post, tail piece, and bass
bar, and by resetting the neck to
conform with 18th Century spec-
ifications.
