Services, carnivals and a
variety of activities will be held
throughout the community next
week in celebration of Purim.

ADAT SHALOM SYNA-
GOGUE: The adult study

commission, under the co-
chairmanship of Jonathan and
Sandy Jaffa, will sponsor the an-
nual traditional Purim seudah at
4:30 p.m. Thursday in the
synagogue. Rabbi Efry Spectre
and Cantor Larry Vieder will
preside, and there will be songs,
dances and entertainment. The
Adat Shalom United Synagogue
Youth group, Migdal Tzion, will
present a special Purim spiel.
For reservations by Tuesday,
call the synagogue office, 851-
5100. There is a fee.
CONG. BATS CHABAD: The
congregation will have a Purim
extravanganza at 7 p.m. Wednes-
day at the Bais Chabad Torah
Center. The program will begin
with the reading of the Megillah,
to be followed by a masquerade
party for children of all ages. A
prize will be awarded to each child
wearing a costume, and special
prizes will be awarded for the best
costumes in each age group. There
will be live music and refresh-
ments. Admission is nominal. The
public is invited. Rabbi Elimelech
Silberberg will officiate at the
Megillah reading.

TEMPLE ISRAEL: The temple

youth group invites the congrega-
tion and the community to its an-
nual Purim carnival to be held at
12:30 p.m. Sunday at Temple Is-
rael. There will be games, food,
contests, a moonwalk, sponge
throw and a Purim costume con-
test. Tickets my be purchased in
