Mengele, said Sen. D'Araato
this week, is almost certainly
alive. He bases his judgement
on what he calls "negative
evidence," such as the fact that
many officials who would be
delighted at Mengele's death
have not had it confirmed to
them. Furthermore, said the
Wiesenthal Center's Mendel-
sohn, Mengele is the only
major Nazi war criminal who
has not been reported dead.

Edmonton (JTA) — The
president of the 15,000-member
Alberta Chamber of Commerce,
who recently created a stir by
questioning the extent of the
Holocaust, has been replaced as
spokesman for the group.
However, Duncan McKillop
will serve out his term as
president, which ends this spring.
President-elect and new acting
spokesman Bill Smith will be in-
stalled in the top post in May.
McKillop told the Edmonton
Journal in a recent interview that
he "had doubts about the numbers
killed in the Holocaust and who
they were but not to the point of
believing it never happened.
"Every time you turn on the TV
set, there's something about the
Holocaust. How long do you carry
this on," he added. McKillop first
gained notoriety while co-
handling the defense of James
Keegstra, the Alberta high school
teacher who went to trial last year
for teaching his students that the
Holocaust was a hoax.

Lands In Israel
Tel Aviv (JTA) — An Egypt Air
airliner spent last Thursday night
with its 102 passengers at Ben-
Gurion airport.
The airbus, which originated in
Abu Dhabi, asked permission to
land in Israel when a heavy
sandstorm closed down Cairo air-
port Thursday afternoon. ,
