HMC Evaluation

Dr. Jacob (Jack) I. Hurwitz, pro-
fessor emeritus, Wayne State
University, is currently evaluat-
ing the results of a research inves-
tigation on behalf of the
Holocaust Memorial Center in
West Bloomfield.
Dr. Hurwitz, who is serving as a
volunteer research consultant to
the Center, and Elana Goldman,
research assistant, recently sur-
veyed visitors to the HMC for
their reactions to the facility,
which is the only exclusively de-
signed center of its kind in North
America.
The specific purposes of the in-
vestigation are to determine what
categories of people visit the Cen-
ter (defined in terms of age, sex,
religion, personal relationship to
Holocaust, etc.), and how these
different types of visitors react to
what they see and hear there.
