Jewish Center Joins
Shalom Network

)

The Jewish Community Center
of Metropolitan Detroit has joined
JWB and other North American
Jewish centers and YM-YWHAs
in a Shalom Newcomers Network
to help Jewish individuals and
families who are moving to a new
community to put down new
Jewish roots.
Marilyn Goldberg and Judie
Plotnick head up the local link in
the continent-wide Shalom New-
comers Network. The network
desk, which is located in the
membership office of the JCC, will
provide newcomers with basic in-
formation about the local com-
munity and those leaving with in-
formation about the community
to which they are going. This in-
cludes information about Jewish
communal services, religious in-
stitutions, possible places to live,
schools, medical services and the
like.
