The Jewish Community Cen-
ter, in cooperation with Sinai
Hospital and Jewish Association
for Retarded Citizens (JARC) will
initiate a program for students,
grades ten-12, Jewish Teens in
Service (JETS) which combines
volunteer work in a Jewish com-
munal service agency with work-
shops helpful toward leadership
and career development.
Participants will select either
the JCC, Sinai Hospital, or JARC
where they will volunteer ten-12
hours each month. Workshops in
communication skills, skill iden-
tification, values clarification and
Jewish identity will supplement
the volunteer experiences on a
monthly basis.
Trained professional staff will
facilitate each of the monthly
workshops on communications,
skill identification and values
clarification and understanding
one's Jewish identity.
Participants will be considered
for a position with the Center
1985 day camp.
An orientation will be held at
3:30 p.m. March 10 at Camp Ruth
at the main Jewish Center com-
plex.
For information on JETS, con-
tact Marty Oliff at the Jewish
Center, 661-1000, ext. 180.
