Workshop Leaders Named For Conference On Israel Charles Hoffman and Linda Os- trow will be among the workshop leaders at the third annual Step Up to Israel Conference slated for 1-4 p.m. Feb. 17 at the main Jewish Community Center. The conference will feature a program on "The Detroit Connec- tion 1985," a guest speaker and workshops on aliyah, travel, business and investment oppor- tunities, retirement, volunteer- ing in Israel, how to cope with children living in Israel and youth travel, study programs and schol- arships. Hoffman is the head of the de- partment of Israel affairs and aliyah for the United Synagogue of America. He is responsible for providing congregations and in- dividuals with information about living in Israel and about the ac- tivities of the Mesorati (Conser- vative) movement in Israel and for suggesting ways of enhancing personal and congregational in- volvement in Israel. He also re- cruits new members for Garin Nitzan, the settlement group sending new members to the first Conservative kibbutz in Israel, Kibbutz Hanaton. Ms. Ostrow was graduated from Stern College for Women of Yeshiva University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and communications. She is listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.
