Carol Denise Nosanchuk and
Jon Jacob Birnkrant were mar-
ried in a double-ring ceremony on
Nov. 25 at Temple Beth El. Rabbi
Dannel I. Schwartz, Rabbi
Richard Weiss of Temple Beth
Jacob and Cantor John Redfield
officiated. The dinner after the
ceremony was at Knollwood
Country Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Harry B. Nosanchuk of
Farmington Hills. Parents of the
bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs.
Sherwin M. Birnkrant of Pontiac.
Linda Nosanchuk of
Lauderhill, Fla., was her sister's
maid of honor. Bridesmaids were
Sheryl Dovitz, Charna Segal and
Lori Weisberg.
Stephen Birnkrant of New
York City was his brother's best
man. Ushers were Dr. Scott Sircus
of Brookline, Mass., Ronald Zad-
ora, and George Zolot of Philadel-
phia, Pa.

Sanford V. Lichterman of Mem-
phis, Tenn., announce the mar-
riage of their daughter, Alyse
Nori, to Philip Jay Evans, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Evans also of
Memphis, on Jan. 20.
Detroit area residents attend-
ing the wedding were Mrs. Faye
Schwartz, grandmother of the
bride; Arthur 0. Lichterman,
grandfather of the bride; Mr. and
Mrs. Sidney L. Blatnikoff, aunt
and uncle of the bride; Alan and
Renee Blatnikoff, cousins of the
bride; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Rudin,

After a cruise to the Caribbean,
the couple will reside in Memphis.

Richard Portnoy were married
Nov. 18 at Strathmore Hall,
Bethesda, Md., by Rabbi Sheldon
Elster. A reception followed.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Anthony Piacente of
Linden, N.J. Parents of the bride-
groom are Mrs. Nathan B.
Portnoy of Southfield and the late
Mr. Nathan B. Portnoy.
The bride was attended by her
twin sister, Carol, and Martin J.
Portnoy, brother of the brideg-
room was the best man.
Out-of-town guests included
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Atlas, Mr. and
Mrs. Max Rubin and Stephen

England and are currently at
