Recollections about two promi-
nent community families will be
emphasized when Naomi
Satovsky Eder is honored by
Cong. Shaarey Zedek at services
on Jan. 12 on the occasion of a
milestone birthday.
The Eder and Satovsky
families, associated with Shaarey
Zedek for more than 50 years, will
have roles in the encomia for Mrs.
Eder.
The widow of Dr. Joseph
Raymond Eder, Mrs. Eder will be
joined by her three daughters,
four grandchildren and relatives
and friends at the service, when
Rabbi Irwin Groner and ,Cantor
Chaim Najman will confer a
blessing on her.
An active member of Cong.
Shaarey Zedek for 60 years, Mrs.
Eder is a third generation
member of the synagogue. Her
grandparents, Nathan and Zora
Beneson, were members of the
congregation when it was housed
on Willis Street. Her father,
Samuel Satovsky, shared in the
construction of the Shaarey Zedek
building on Chicago Boulevard
and in 1928, the former Naomi
Satovsky and Dr. Eder were mar-
ried by the synagogue's then
spiritual leader, Rabbi Abraham
Hershman.
Her grandson Steven Mitchell
