Berl Falbaum will discuss "Is-
rael and the Media" before the
Association of Parents of Ameri-
can Israelis at 7:30 p.m. Wednes-
day at Cong. Beth Shalom.
Falbaum is a former political
reporter for The Detroit News;
served as administrative assis-
tant to Michigan's lieutenant
governor; and handled media re-
lations and speechwriting for two
major U.S. corporations.
Presently, he is assistant vice
president-corporate communica-
tions for Perry Drug Stores, Inc.
He also teaches journalism part-
time at Wayne State and Oakland
Universities.
Admission is free, and the pub-
lic is invited.

Wins title

Michelle Mantel, of Southfield,
won the championship in the girls
under 15 category at the United
States Table Tennis National
Championships in Law Vegas last
month.
Michelle, 14, and her partner
Liana Panesko, of Richland,
Wash. finished second in the dou-
bles competition for girls under
17.
