Orr's remarks about Begin's
promise in the Galilee.
MKs Michael Dekel and Dan
Meridor took exception to the re-
ported remark that Begin's prom-
ise could not be kept in full. Dekel
and Meridor complained, in the
Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Se-
curity Committee, that Orr had
characterized Begin's vow as a
mere slogan. It was; in fact, one of
the key slogans used by Begin in
the 1981 election campaign. The
two MKs argued it was not the
business of an army officer to
evaluate statements made by
political leaders.
MK Yossi Sarid' of the Citizens
Rights Movement (CRM) said Orr
did the right thing when he told
the settlers in the north the re-
sponsible truth. Unfortunately,
no one can guarantee that
Katyusha will never strike again
and "somebody had to put an end
to this fairy tale."
Meanwhile, two IDF soldiers
were wounded Monday morning
when their two-vehicle convoy
came under small arms fire from
an orchard near Aksakiya village
east of Sidon in south Lebanon.
The village was placed under cur-
few. A search yielded a
Kalachnikof rifle and ammuni-
tion magazines.
The ambush was the only one of
more than a half dozen attacks on
the IDF and South Lebanon Army
(SLA) units over the weekend
which caused casualties.

Honolulu (J TA) — A consensus
that the Jewish congregations in
various parts of Hawaii needed an
individual who would occasion-
ally visit each island to help lead
services and discussion groups
was one of the principal conclu-
sions reached at a meeting of is-
land Jewish representatives
sponsored by the Jewish Federa-
tion of Hawaii.
The all-day affair was or-
ganized to bring together repre-
sentatives from congregations in
Maui, Kanuai, Kona and Hilo, ac-
cording to the Hawaii Jewish

News.

Sally Wilson, who heads
Kanuai's Jewish community and
is also a member of the Federation
Board of Trustees, said that the
talks, in part, dealt with "what we
have been doing and how we have
been doing it." Participants
learned that what the Jewish
needs were and how they were
met often depended on the kind of
population existing on an island.
Kanuai, the conclave was told,
has as its Jewish nucleus a Sun-
day school program because there
are families there with small
children who need a Jewish edu-
cation.
The small numbers of Jews and
limited materials on the neighbor
islands proved to be a common
bond, the News reported. Kona
Jews, about to receive new
prayerbooks for their services, of-
fered to split their old prayer-
books between the Jews of Kanuai
.
, and Kilo.

For her, Seiko suggests elegance
with a Florentine touch.

The rich Florentine finish that surrounds the dial adds an
extra measure of texture and style to bracelet design.
Here, three variations on a theme of gold-tone lustre: the
graceful Ellipse, the Circle and the Octagon. Beauty
made practical with the precision of Seiko Quartz.
