Sinai Hospital of Detroit has
named certified perinatologist,
Dr. David B. Schwartz, as director
of maternal-fetal medicine in the
obstetrics and gynecology de-
partment.
His major responsibilities in-
clude: re-establishing a high risk
pregnancy clinic with multidis-
ciplinary staffing, developing a
high risk consultation service and
outreach education programs,
educating residents participating
in obstetrics and gynecology rota-
tions at Sinai and participating in
research done at the hospital.
Before coming to Sinai, Dr.
Schwartz was a faculty member of
the department of obstetrics and
gynecology at the University of
Wisconsin. In addition to his uni-
versity commitments in the di-
vision of maternal-fetal medicine,
he also had a private practice dur-
ing the six years that he lived in
Madison, Wis. -
A native of Johannesburg,
South Africa, Dr. Schwartz re-
ceived his medical degree from
Witwatersrand University in
Johannesburg in 1964. He did a
fellowship in the Nuffield De-
partment of Obstetrics and Gyne-
cology at the Oxford University in
England in 1971, and completed a
second fellowship in maternal-
fetal medicine at the University of
Wisconsin in 1981.
He is a member of the American
Medical Association, the Wiscon-
sin Obstetrics and Gynecology
Society, the Wisconsin Associa-
tion for Perinatal Care, and the
Society for Perinatal Obstetri-
cians.

Interfaith
parley slated

Local Jewish organizations will
participate in the 33rd annual
Rearing Children of Good Will
Conference slated for Feb. 12 at
Mercy College Conference Cen-
ter, 8200 W. Outer Dr., Detroit.
They include: Jewish Commu-
nity Council, Anti-Defamation
League of B'nai B'rith, League of
Jewish Women's Organizations,
the B'nai B'rith Metropolitan De-
troit Council and Sinai Hospital.
The program's sponsor is the
Greater Detroit Round Table of
the National Conference of Chris-
tians and Jews.
