observe the 50th anniversary of
its founding at Shabbat services
at 8 a.m. Saturday. Rabbi Noah
Temple seniors
hold luncheon
The Temple Beth Elders will
hold their monthly luncheon in
the Handleman Hall at Temple
Beth El at noon on Jan. 8.
Elizabeth A. D'Eramo of Health
Alliance Plan will speak on this
new medical program providing
no-cost SeniorPlus insurance for
Medicare beneficiaries. A ques-
tion and answer period will follow
lecture and slides.

The synagogue was founded in
1934 in memory of Mr. Isaac
Agree. Members of the Agree fam-
ily are still active in the congrega-
tion and serve on its board.
Originally, the synagogue was
located at State and Griswold
Streets. It moved to the David
Stott Building and relocated to
1442 Griswold. Since 1964, the
synagogue has been located at
1457 Griswold.
Adat Shalom
has memorial
for Fenakel
Adat Shalom Synagogue will
have a memorial service for Can-
tor Emeritus Nicholas Fenakel at
5 p.m. Thursday in the
synagogue. Cantor Fenakel died
Nov. 28.
The special memorial ceremony
will be conducted by Rabbi Efry
Spectre and Cantor Larry Vieder
in the main sanctuary. The com-
munity is invited.

Rashi class
for women
A class to provide women with
the skills to study Rashi's com-
mentary to the Bible is given by
Rabbi Reuven- Drucker at Young
Israel of Greenfield on Tuesdays
at 1:30 p.m.
Beginning Jan. 8 free babysit-
ting service will be available for
mothers with young children in
order to enable them to attend.
