Simon was the leading money- raiser in last April's Golden Mile Walk. Mrs. Simon has spoken on maternal-child health issues to numerous groups, primarily in conjunction with Healthy Baby Week, an educational effort spearheaded by the B'nai B'rith Women. New program for seniors • A special program for senior citizens combining educational, recreational, cultural and fitness activities with a kosher lunch has been introduced at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield. Participants in- the Active Adults program may choose from a large array of classes and activi- ties 10:30 a.m. each Monday and Thursday followed by a noon luncheon. Visitors effort for homebound Volunteers from the Jimmy Prentis Morris Branch of the Jewish Community Center have organized a Friendly Visitors program to provide companion- ship to homebound elderly. Volunteers will provide a visit one day each week to senior adults living in north Royal Oak Town- ship including residents of Lin- coln Towers, Northgate and Rue Versailles Apartments. This project is supported by a grant from the Area Agency on Aging 1-B which stipulates that no one can be excluded from par- ticipation in the program because of race, age, sex, national origin or handicap. Jazz exercise class at JCC The Jewish Community Center will offer a winter session course in jazz exercise beginning Sun- day. Sessions of the ten-week course, led by dance exercise instructor Marsha Newman, will be avail- able 11 a.m. Sunday, 9:30 a.m. Monday, 9:30 a.m. Wednesd'ay and 8:15 p.m. Thursday. JCC Chanukah fest planned The Jimmy Prentis Morris Branch of the Jewish Community Center will present "Chanukah Highlights," a program featuring dancing and music by various local artists, 2 p.m. Sunday. In addition, the Morris Branch will sponsor an intergenerational Chanukah program 11 a.m. each week day of the holiday.
