Friday, December 14, 1984 THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS -3 CARL' Law of Return passage urged ,40 , P A P., 14 New York (JTA) — Israel MK Avraham Werdyger, leader of the Agudath Israel Party, said last week that he would recom- mend that his party quit the gov- ernment coalition if the Knesset rejects the amendment to the Law of Return. The amendment requires that all conversions to Judaism be conducted according to halachah. The amendment is expected to be voted on this month. The rare Bible was sold during an auction of Judaica at Sotheby's. The Bible was part of 97 manu- scripts that went on sale from the collection of David Solomon Sas- soon, a Bombay-born British col- lector.
