Sweet treat

SOUR CREAM DATE DROPS
1 /2 cup Parkay margarine
3 /4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 /2 tsp. baking soda
1 /4 tsp. salt
1 /2 cup sour cream
3 /4 cup chopped pitted dates
1 /2 cup chopped walnuts
Vanilla Frosting
Walnut halves
Beat margarine and sugar until
light and fluffy. Blend in egg and
vanilla. Add combined dry ingre-
dients alternately with sour
cream, mixing well after each
addition. Stir in dates and chop-
ped walnuts. Drop rounded teas-
poonfuls of dough onto ungreased
cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees,
8 to 10 minutes or until set. Cool;
frost with Vanilla Frosting. Top
with walnut halves. Yield; about
4 dozen.
VANILLA FROSTING
1 /4 cup Parkay margarine
1 /2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups sifted powdered sugar
4 tsps. milk
Beat margarine; blend in van-
illa. Add sugar alternately with
milk, beating until light and
fluffy.
