Don't Blame
Your Age For
Poor Hearing.

Chicago, 111.—A free offer of spe-
cial interest to those who hear but do
not understand words has been an-
nounced by Beltone. A non-operat-
ing model of the smallest hearing aid
Beltone has ever developed will be
given absolutely free to anyone re-
questing it.
It's yours for the asking, so send
for it now. It is not a real hearing aid,
but it will show you how tiny hearing
help can be. The actual aid weighs
less than an eighth of an ounce, and it
fits completely into the" ear canal.
These models are free, so we sug-
gest you write for yours now. Again,
there is no cost, and certainly no
obligation. Although a hearing aid
may not help everyone, more and
more people with hearing losses are
being helped. For your free sample
write today to: Department 62009,
Beltone Electronics Corporation,
4201 West Victoria Street, Chicago,
IL 60646.

Washington (JTA) — Three
American Jewish Congress offi-
cials were arrested Monday dur-
ing an anti-apartheid demonstra-
tion at the Embassy of South Af-
rica.
Theodore Mann, AJCongress
president, Henry Siegman, execu-
tive director, and folksinger
Theodore Bikel, senior vice
president, were handcuffed and
taken by police van to a local
police station where they were
booked and detained for several
hours.
The three AJCongress officials
were arrested by Washington
police for refusing an order to re-
main at least 500 feet from the
Embassy. Rabbi David Sapers-
tein, co-director and counsel of the
Union of American Hebrew Con-
gregations (UAHC) Religious Ac-
tion Center, who participated in
the protest, acted as the lawyer for
the three while they were being
detained. Another participant in
the demonstration was Rabbi
Alexander Schindler, UAHC
president.
The five Jewish officials, who
led the anti-apartheid protest, is-
sued a statement which said, in
part: "Jewish tradition and his-
torical experience require that we
speak out against all forms of in-
justice . . . We have come to pub-
licly protest and condemn the offi-
cial government apartheid policy
of discrimination nd dehumaniza-
tion which has been imposed upon
the non-white majority in South
Africa.
"We strongly oppose the Re-
agan Administration's policy of
`constructive engagement.' This
approach has not advanced the
cause of true social justice, nor has
it mitigated the South African
government's repressive racial
policies."
