Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Engel of
Oak Park announce .the engage-
ment of their daughter, Debra
Robin, to Paul Jeffrey Fischer, son
of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Fischer
of Southfield.
Miss Engel attended Wayne
State University and Oakland
Community College where she re-
ceived her court reporting certifi-
cate. She is currently employed in
that capacity at the Oak Park Dis-
trict Court.
Fischer received a Bacheolor of
Arts degree from the University
of Michigan and a Juris Doctor
degree from the WSU Law School.
He is currently employed as an
Oakland County Assistant Pro-
secutor.
A March wedding is planned.

Junior Congregation elected offi-
cers to lead Shabat services for the
coming year. They are: Amy
Flamenbaum, president; Sam
Schwartz, activities vice
president; Ali Friedberg, reli-
gious vice president; Colleen
Koenig, recording secretary;
Kelly Berner, corresponding sec-
retary; and Mark Grossman, trea-
surer. Other board members in-
clude seventh graders: Andrew
Bank, Jenny Bectc., Michelle Olds,
Annette Powers and Greg Wal-
ters.
Elected as elementary class
representatives were: Jenny
Chimovitz, Mara Flamenbaum,
Michael Flamenbaum and An-
drew Megdell.
Junior Congregation is a pro-
gram of the Ivriah Hebrew School
of Flint. Shabat youth services are
held 10 a.m. weekly at the
synagogue. For information, con-
tact the Ivriah office, 732-6312.
BETH SHALOM Kadima will
have a Shabbat experience on
Dec. 15. The day will start with
Shabbat services in the youth
lounge at 10 a.m. Services will be
followed by a study luncheon with
Rabbi David Nelson. The after-
noon will be finished with a trip to
the Jewish Federation Apart-
ments in Oak Park, for a
Chanukah presentation. Pick-up
will be at 4:30 p.m. from the
Jewish Federation Apartments.
There is no charge for the lunch-
eon. Reservations can be made to
Shiri Greenbaum, 855-0628; or to
Ron Leff, 552-8165.
On Dec. 16, Kadima will go rol-
lerskating at Bonaventure, meet-
ing at the synagogue at noon for
lunch and a movie. Rollerskating
will follow. Pick-up will be at 5:30
p.m. at Beth Shalom. There is a

BNAI MOSHE Kadima United
Synagogue Youth will host a
Chanukah party for Beth Achim's
Kadima USY on Dec. 16 at 2 p.m.
all USY members in grades six,
seven and eight are invited. Food
and games will highlight the af-
ternoon. There is a $5 limit grab

B'nai Moshe Ruach USY will
also have a Chanukah party on
Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. in the youth
lounge. All children in grades
