Leonard Baron is chairman of
publicity. Carole Lasser will be
the musical accompanist and the
youth choir will be conducted by
Robin Schakne.
The congregation will have a
special Shabbat Chanukah serv-
ice at 8:45 a.m. Dec. 22. Rabbi
Groner, Cantor Najman and the
synagogue choir will participate.
On Dec. 19 at noon, the senior
citizens group of the congregation
will sponsor a Chanukah lunch-
eon. Cantor Najman will render a
holiday presentation.

Torah center starts
series of lectures

The Bais Chabad Torah Center
will begin its annual lecture
series at 8:15 p.m. Sunday in the
home of Susan and Larry Gor-
mezano, 6220 Tamerlane, West
Bloomfield.
The lecture will focus on "The
Role of the Jewish Woman in Con-
temporary Society." Chaya Sora
Silberberg will give the lecture.

`Joy of Chanukah' family program

The Cultural Commission of
Cong. Shaarey Zedek announces
that a Chanukah celebration for
the entire family will take place
on Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the main
sanctuary.
The concert, which is sponsored
by the Laker Family, will feature
the augmented Shaarey Zedek
Choir, the Youth Choir, con-
ducted by Eugene Zweig, Cantor
Chaim Najman and Rabbi Irwin
Groner in a special presentation
of narration and music entitled
"The Joy of Chanukah." Refresh-
ments will be served in the social
hall following the concert. The
concert is open to the entire com-
munity at no charge.
The Cultural Commission is
headed by Dr. Samuel Stulberg.
Mrs. Harvey Zalla and Dr. Paul
Gold are co-chairmen. Dr. Harold
Daitch is chairman of the music
division. Mrs. Stuart Goodstein
and Mrs. Donald Wagner are re-
ception chairmen.
The Dec. 16 concert is the third
annual concert sponsored by the
Laker family.-
