Active Adults unit
to begin new series
The Jewish Community Center
of Metropolitan Detroit . an-
nounces a two-day-a-week lunch-
eon program for retired adults
will begin Dec. 10.
The kick-off luncheon will fea-
ture Rabbi Milton Arm of Cong.
Beth Achim who will speak on
"Jewish Communities in Ger-
many Today."
Meeting Mondays and Thurs-
days at 10:30 a.m., the Active
Adults program provides infor-
mal educational, recreational, so-
cial, cultural and fitness oriented
classes and activities. Kosher
lunches are served.
Participants can choose from
classes and activities including:
senior fitness, yoga, arts and
crafts, card club, water exercises
and ballroom dancing.
Immediately following lunch on
Mondays lectures are given. After
lunch on Thursdays "Program
Potpourri" offers such activities
as current events and discussion
groups, feature films, bingo, book
reviews; singing and more.
Active adults meets at the
Jewish Center Maple/Drake
building. Registration is required
for classes and luncheons. For in-

A focus group on living with
cancer will meet Monday, at 7:30
p.m. in the Southfield Civic Cen-
ter, Room III.

focus of senior trip
The senior adult department of
the Jewish Center will offer a trip
to Oakland Community College to
see a performance of the Detroit
Dance Collective at 2:30 p.m. Dec.
9, meeting at the Jimmy Prentis
Morris Building of the Center.
All senior adults are invited at
a- nominal charge. For reserva-
tions by Thursday, call Helen
Singer at the Morris Branch,
967-4030.
Workshops for the visually im-
paired will be conducted every
Wednesday in room 15 of Morris
Branch beginning Dec. 12. The
workshops are co-sponsored by
the Greater Detroit Society for the
Blind.
Sighted volunteers are needed.
