Kahanov, Israeli emissary with
the JNF. Born and raised in Is-
rael, Kahanov was studying law
and political science at Hull Uni-
versity in Liverpool, England,
when he enlisted in the Israel De-
fense Forces" in 1969. After his
tour of duty, he served as commu-
nity emissary of the youth and
hechalutz department in Liver-
pool and Glasgow, Scotland.
After returning to Israel in
1978, he became deputy director
of the U.S.A. department.of Keren
Kayemet Leisrael in Jerusalem
and director of overseas tourism.
