Following are some samples from the Writers' Journal '84: Reflections at 84 My life has been one of great adventure. I have seen so many wonderful changes, from the horse and buggy stage to the in- credible Space Age. It is gratify- ing to have seen tremendous strides in the sciences, cures for ugly diseases, preventive medicines and new modes of transportation. Who would ever have believed that men could walk on the moon? That itself can bewilder the mind. Der alter chazn BY JEAN RUBACH The outward description of me takes secondary place to the inner me. I am an unassuming, private person. I feel that each person is accountable for himself. Since this is my life and I cannot have another, I am trying to make this one time around the best possible way of life to my way of thinking. I thoroughly enjoy what I am doing. I like myself for enriching my life with the worthwhile endeavor of further education, for having the desire to keep moving on to bigger and better things; therefore, I am a happy, contented person. Sometimes, I ask myself, "What would I like to have changed 7 about my way of living if that were possible?" I have no way of determining, as I cannot make a comparison. I would, if I could, change the ) world situation, but that is wish- ful thinking. Therefore, I will have to accept it as it is, but make my life as ideal as possible.
