for roots

States Sen. Barry Goldwa-
ter (R-Ariz.) is searching for
his roots, the Jewish Post

The long-time Senator
has enlisted the aid of the
Arizona Historical Founda-
tion in uncovering informa-
tion on the Goldwater fam-
ily. Sen. Goldwater's grand-
father, Michel, and his
great-uncle, Joe, came to
the U.S. from Poland in
1852. The family originally
settled in Sonora, Calif. be-
fore moving to the Arizona
territory in the 1860s.
