Newcomers treated to HMC tour

Shalom Detroit, a project of the
Jewish Welfare Federation's
Women's Division, will welcome
Jewish newcomers to the Detroit
area with a private tour of the
Holocaust Memorial Center on
Tuesday at 10 a.m. Shalom De-
troit committee members and new
Detroiters will meet for coffee at
the main Jewish Community
Center at 9:15 a.m.
Since 1977, Shalom Detroit has
offered friendship to several
hundred families, sharing infor-

mation about the local Jewish
community, the Allied Jewish
Campaign and the Women's Di-
vision.
Assisting Marilyn Goldberg,
chairman of the 1985 Shalom De-
troit committee, are Joyce Sher-
man, associate chairman; Wendy
Roizen, adviser; and Susan Citrin,
vice president. Ellen Labes is
president of the Women's Di-
vision.
