New York — The American
Zionist Youth Foundation's New
Israel Center in New York has
launched an advertising and in-
formational campaign with the
goal of persuading U.S. college
students to complete their studies
in Israel.
The campaign highlights the
opportunities for study abroad at
Bar-Ilan, Ben-Gurion, Haifa, He-
brew and Tel Aviv Universities.
All ads will feature a return
coupon to the center, which will
then forward names and ad-
dresses of interested students to
the five universities for follow-up.

Name change nixed
- Toronto (JTA) — The town
council of Mississauga, a suburb
west of Toronto, has politely
suggested to the small Palesti-
nian community that they drop
their proposal to name a street in
memory of the victims of the
Sabra and Shatila refugee camps
massacre of September 1982.
The name "Sabra Gate" was
suggested in a letter from the
Canadian Arab Federation which
one council member, Larry
Taylor, found "slightly strident in
tone."

Washington — Rabbi Arthur
Schneier, founder and president
of the Appeal of Conscience Foun-
dation, was the recipient of an
honorary doctorate from the Uni-
versity of Budapest this week.
Rabbi Schneier, a, Holocaust
survivor who emigrated to the
United States from Hungary in
1947, was appointed by President
Carter in 1978 to a delegation
that returned the Crown of St.
Stephen to Budapest.
