Bonn (JTA) — A federal court
in Karlshruhe has ruled that
prison penalties imposed on neo-
nazis must not be suspended. The
court, whose verdicts cannot be
appealed, said that the current
practice of placing neo Nazi de-
fendants on probation can be
viewed by the public as an unjus-
tified softness toward right-wing
extremism.
The decision was taken in the
case of a neo-Nazi who has circu-
lated anti-Semitic propaganda for
a long time. A lower court in
Stuttgart sentenced the man to
two years imprisonment but de-
cided that the term would be sus-
pended. The state prosecution ap-
pealed against the suspension of
the prison term.

participate in a two-week pilot
tour of the country scheduled to
begin on December 3.
The tour, sponsored by the Is-
rael Aliyah Center and Tour
Ve'Aleh, will be open to profes-
sionals from all fields, according
to Moshe Amir, director of the
Aliyah Center's professional em-
ployment desk.
The tour's itinerary will include
meeting with prospective em-
ployers, visits to absorption cen-
ters, settlements and com-
munities throughout Israel; and
seminars with experts in such
fields as housing, education and
banking.

cently distributed by Egyptian
Airlines identified the land area
of Israel as "Palestine," according
to the Israeli newspaper Yediot
Ahronot.
In addition, the newspaper re-
ported, a listing on the back side of
the map of international airlines
servicing Cairo Airport omitted
the Israeli carrier, El Al.
