Following the luncheon, Sha- ron Hart, Women's -Division Campaign chairman, gave the latest figures on the division's participation in the 1985 Allied Jewish Campaign. A total of $1,500,000 had been pledged prior to the luncheon to kick off the women's Campaign. The women had raised $250,000 to renovate the senior citizens center in Detroit's sister city of Ramie, Israel, in 18 months, beat- ing their original three-year goal. The day-long program at the Jewish Community Center began with remarks by Federation Executive Vice President Wayne Feinstein and Julie Gurwin, asso- ciate chairman of Institute Day. At the luncheon, Tillie Brandwine recited the invocation, while Susan Marwil, chairman of the Institute Day, welcomed the guests. Women's Division President Ellen Labes gave a state-of-the-division report.
