Matthew Paletz
wins scholarship
from Interlochen

Matthew Paletz, son of Susan
and Robert Paletz of Farmington
Hills, has been awarded the
Jonathan Lazarus Silets Memo-
rial Scholarship of the National
Music Camp at Interlochen.
The scholarship is awarded to a
junior or intermediate girl or boy
percussionist who has made the
most progress during the sum-
mer. It pays half the tuition for
the coming camp season.
Matthew, 11, played percussion
in the intermediate band. He is a
student at Warner Middle School.

B'NAI MOSHE'S Kadima youth
group (grades six-eight) will have
a rollerskating afternoon Sunday
at the Bonaventure roller rink,
meeting at the synagogue at 2
p.m. There is a charge. For reser-

New Junior Congregation offi-
cers are: Shawn Dines, president;
Jonathan Rosenbaum, vice
president; Ben Barris, programm-
ing chairman; Ezra Wanetik and
Jeffrey Friedman, secretaries;

Renny Barris, Seth Hits,ky, David
Hitsky and Dan Goldstein, board
members.
B'nai Moshe offers babysitting
and services every Shabbat be-
ginning at 10 a.m. for children of
members and non-members, in-
fants through 13 years.
Infants to 2 years old are cared
— for by Andrea Spillet. Story Hour,
ages 3-6, is led by adviser Betty
Elster. Children play, have
snacks, hear stories, and learn
prayers and songs. Junior Con-
gregation, ages 7-13, is led by
Mark Eichner. Children pray to-
gether and discuss the weekly
Torah portion. All children join
the main congregation at the end
of the service and lead the con-
greagation in Adon Olam.
The youth groups are open to
members and non-members on
the following levels: Ruach,
grades one-five, with adviser
Robin Pappas; Kadima, grades
six-eight, with adviser Nancy
Ankerman; and USY Chazon,
) grades nine-12, with adviser Yale
Cohen.
