The educational services de-
partment of the Jewish Commu-
nity Center announces new art
and dance classes will begin in
December.
Beginning Dec. 11, Susan Katz
will teach a variety of art classes
at the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Branch of the Center. Katz was
graduated from the University of
Windsor with a degree in fine
arts.
Youth Pottery for children age
6-8 will be held at 3 p.m. Tues-
days. Teen/Adult Introduction to
Drawing will be at 7 p.m. Tues-
days.-
On Thursdays at 4 p.m., Youth
Pottery will be held for children
age 9 and up. At 7 p.m., Teen/
Adult Pen-Ink Drawing will be
held.
Folk dance instructor Uri Segal
will conduct an Israeli folk dance
drop-in at 7 p.m. Wednesdays At
the main Jewish Community
Center, beginning Dec. 12. The
first hour will be comprised of in-
struction and the remaining time
will be for request dancing. There
is a nominal fee per session. All
levels of dancers are welcome.
Eileen Greenbain, professional
performer, choreographer and
teacher, will teach dance classes
in the Zell Dance Studio at the
main Jewish Center beginning
Dec. 10.
Greenbain holds a Master of
Fine Arts degree in dance from
the University of Michigan, has
14 years of teaching experience,
and served as university dance
professor. She was recently
awarded a 1985 Council for the
Arts award to choreograph and
perform a dance solo. She is a re-
cipient of the Eastern Michigan
University Dance Alumni Award.
