tional President Beverly Davis of
Jamaica, N.Y., will address the
more than 300 women attending
the B'nai B'rith Women's Special
Gifts Luncheon at 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday at Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Linda Bloch will be honored as
the 1984 B'nai , B'rith woman of
the year.
During her more than 35 years
with the 125,000-member inter-
national Jewish women's service
and advocacy organization, Mrs.
Davis has participated in BBW's
many service projects here and in
Israel.

the topic presented and discussed
by a panel consisting of: Dr. Marla
Rowe-Gorosh of Ford Hospital;
Dr. Muriel 'Ginsberg Wagner,
nutritionist; Helen Moss family
counselor; and Dr. Phyliss Hodes,
professor of education at. Mercy
College, will moderate.

programming thrust, "The Faces
and Phases of Jewish Women."
This seven-segment program re-
volves around such themes as
"The Image of the Jewish Woman:
Myth and Reality"; a woman's
physical and mental health; and
intermarriage.
Mrs. Davis also represented
BBW in Paris in July 1984 at a
joint BBW/Anti-Defamation
League of B'nai B'rith-sponsored
conference on "The Woman's
Movement: The Road to Nairobi."
She has also served as BBW
non-governmental representative
to the United Nations, as mem-
bership chairman, as a member of
the allocations and budget com-
mittees, and on the Hillel, Career
and Counseling, and B'nai B'rith
Youth Organization commis-
sions.
New York Gov. Mario M.
Cuomo recently appointed Mrs.
Davis to the state Commission on
Domestic Violence. She is also a
member of the New York Confer-
ence on • Soviet Jewry, the
President's Conference of Major
American Jewish Organizations,
and the Leadership Conference of
Jewish Women's Organizations,
and has served as assistant direc-
tor of field services for the New
York City division of the Ameri-
can Cancer Society.
Honored as a Woman of
Achievement by the Anti-
Defamation League of B'nai
B'rith, Mrs. Davis continues to
serve on the ADL Commission,
and was elected to its national
executive committee. She is vice
chairman of the ADL Women's
Division and a member of the New
York ADL Regional and Execu-
tive Boards. She received the
William S. Stachenfeld Award
from the B'nai B'rith Career and

Counseling Agency "for outstand-
ing services," and continues to
serve as chairman of the New
York Advisory Board for the B'nai
B'rith Career and Counseling
Service.
Jamaica, Queens, bestowed its
Woman of the Year award on Mrs.
Davis "for her many contributions
to the community." Mrs. Davis is
vice president of the Senior Citi-
zen Housing Development of
B'nai B'rith Queens Council, and
is a member of the advisory board
of the District One Star, a B'nai
B'rith newspaper.
The State of Israel honored Mrs.
Davis with its Shalom Award for
her sale of Israel Bonds.
Mrs. Davis has served as an
officer of both the Hillel Founda-
tion at Queens College and of the
Queens B'nai B'rith Youth
Organization Regional Board.
She is also a member of the Hill-
crest Jewish Center.
Eadie Albion, special gifts
chairman, and Linda Moss,
luncheon chairman, announced
that reservations are still avail-
able. There is a charge and pro-
ceeds from the luncheon will help
to fill many social service needs of
the programs•supported by B'nai
B'rith Women both here and in
Israel.

Blood bank drive

B'nai B'rith Men's and
Women's - Councils of Metropoli-
tan Detroit will sponsor a blood
bank drive on Monday and Tues-
day from 5 to 9:30 p.m., at Temple
