Officials in Athens are speculating that Papandreou, who travelled to Libya in Sep- tember, is making an attempt to restore his credibility among Arab nations and that the prime minister hopes to secure a mediat- ing role for Greece in the Arab- Israeli dispute. Papandreou has made a concerted effort in recent months to improve relations with Israel and now may be trying to Body identified Tel Aviv (JTA) — The chief police pathologists confirmed Tuesday that a body returned to Israel by Egyptian authorities is the remains of a 17-year-old Miri Herzog who disappeared last spring while on a tour of southern Sinai. The body was discovered by Is- raeli tourists in sand dunes near Nueiba months ago. IDF soldier jailed in Arab bus attack Jerusalem (JTA) — A young in- fantry soldier was remanded in custody by a Jerusalem magis- trate Sunday on suspicion that he fired an anti-tank missile at an Arab bus on the outskirts of Jerusalem Oct. 28, killing one passenger and wounding 10 others. The suspect, identified as David Ben-Shimol, 18, of Jerusalem, was said to have freely confessed . to the crime. Three other soldiers were detained for questioning as possible accomplices before the fact. According to Army Radio, one of them has since been re- leased and another, a young woman soldier, will be released later this week. Their identities were withheld by order of the court.
