Bennett Stephen A. Bennett of the Tampa office of the Laventhol and Horwath accounting firm, and Norman A. Pappas of the Enterprise Group, will be guest speakers at a seminar sponsored by the Detroit Friends of Bar-Ilan University to be held Monday at 8 p.m. in the home of Dr. and Mrs. Gerald Stollman, it was an- nounced by Jack Zwick, chairman of Bar-Ilan's endowment and de- ferred giving committee, and by Donald Fox and Paul Zlotoff, gen- eral chairmen. There is no charge for the semi- nar, and there will be no solicita- tion of funds. Bennett is director of tax serv- ices at Laventhol and Horwath's Tampa office. He has been cer- tified as a tax lawyer by the Florida Bar, is program chairman for Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education Seminars, is director of the Tampa Bay Investment Coun- cil, and is a member of both the Florida and California Bars. He is a former assistant professor at the University of Florida College of Law. Over the past ten years Pappas has received numerous awards for his achievements as a life insur- ance agent. He established Bar-Ilan's endowment program in Detroit in 1980, served as the university's dinner co-chairman in 1982-1983, and is a member of its American Board of Overseers. He and his wife, Susan, recently dedicated a dormitory room, and they co-led a United Jewish Ap- peal mission that visited the cam- pus in 1981. In addition, Pappas serves on the U.J.A.'s National Young Norman A. Pappas Leadership Cabinet, and is active with the Allied Jewish Campaign, Temple Beth El and The Anti- Defamation League. Sinai forum concentrates on parents and infants at risk Sinai Hospital of Detroit's Pre- ventive Intervention Research Center (PIRC) is offering a one- day program for health care pro- fessionals to help them identify and assess parents and infants at high risk for psychological and physical problems and to compare the effectiveness of various inter- vention techniques. It will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 9 at Wayne State Uni- versity's McGregor Memorial Conference Center, 495 W. Ferry Mall, Detroit. Dr. Norman Rosenzweig, chairman of the Sinai's depart- ment of psychiatry, will introduce and chair the program, organized by co-directors Dr. Charles A. Burch, director of Social Work in Sinai's department of psychiatry, and Dr. Linda S. Hotchkiss, assis- tant to the chairman, of Sinai's department of psychiatry. Faculty includes Dr. Joy Osofsky, research and staff psy- chologist with the Menninger Foundation of Topeka; Dr. Robert Nover, research psychiatrist at the Clinical Infant Research Unit of the National Institute of Men- tal Health; Dr. Virginia Seitz, professor of psychology and re- search scientist at Yale Child Study Center;. Dr. Donald Silver, attending psychiatrist and member of Sinai's clinical faculty; and Dr. B. Kay Campbell, clinical psychologist and past president of the International Association for Infant Mental Health. Dr. Ralph Cash, chairman of the Sinai's pediatrics department, and Dr. Rajendra Desai, director of neonatology at Sinai, along with Dr. Mary J. Kokosky, Oak- wood Hospital's director of neonatology, will serve as panelists during the discussion- and-answer periods following the lectures.
