Cantor Miller gained his basic
knowledge of chazanut and im-
provisation at home under the
guidance of his father, Cantor and
Mohel Reb Aaron Miller. He
studied Solfegio and music theory
under Cantor Samuel B. Taube of
Montreal, Canada, now residing
in Rehovot, Israel. He studied
voice with Dr. Puggell and A.
Zfira in N.Y. and at the Cham-
pagne School of Music in
Montreal, Canada.
Miller was accepted as cantor at
the Hillside Jewish Center. Hill-
side, N.J., at age 18 and from
there he went on to major posi-
tions in the Bronx, Montreal and
Toronto.

president of the Downtown Syna-
gogue at the congregation's recent
annual meeting.
