The concert will feature Temple Israel's cantor, Harold Orbach, and Beth Achim's cantor, Max Shimansky. Cantor Ben Zion Mil- ler of Brooklyn, N.Y., also will be on the program. Shimansky has appeared in concert in many synagogues across the United States as well as at Town Hall in New York and Powell Symphony Hall in St. Louis. His repertoire includes show music, operatic arias, Yid- dish and Hebrew folk and art songs, and Chasidic melodies in addition to the cantorial recita- tives. He is a member of the Cantors Assembly and vice chairman of its tri-state region. Miller is the decendant of can- tors, shochetim and mohelim. At age 5, Miller was called upon to sing at many public gatherings, such as melave malka get- togethers, b'nai mitzvah or other Jewish functions, either in solo perforMance or as head soloist in the yeshiva choir.
