People Who Care
I moved to the Detroit area
two years ago and I looked for an
obstetrician on Sinai's staff when I
became. pregnant with my third
child. I feel it's important for the
Jewish community to support a
Jewish-sponsored hospital.
I'm really glad I chose Sinai!
. My older children were born in
major hospitals in other cities, and
my experience at Sinai was by far
the best.
The doctors and nurses were
very responsive to my requests
both in the labor room and in the
post-partum unit. They provided
very individualized care. It was
very important for me to have my
baby with me after the birth, for
example, and they didn't take her
away, even though I had had a
cesarean delivery.
The same nurse cared for me
and the baby every day. She was
wonderful—explained every-
thing and apologized fOr any
inconvenience.
I was in the Hospital for the
Sabbath, and the Pastoral Care
Department provided electric can-
dles for me to light. The kosher
food was also very good.
Sinai cares for the entire family.
My older daughter attended a class
for siblings, taught by a warm, nur-
turing nurse. She got a tour of the
Hospital, and a coloring book
about becoming a big sister. After
the birth, she and my son came to
visit, and were allowed to hold the
baby in my room.
I chose Sinai because I had
heard the quality of care there was
very high. Now I know it is.
Sinai is my hospital.
